Although this hotel is located outside the city of Dinant itself (a few kilometers away) it actually offers more value than a hotel inside the town itself. Built into an old mill and an adjoining manor house, Les Jardins is the perfect place to call home when visiting this area. Not only does it give close access to Dinant, it is also on the junction of several major walking or cycling routes in the region (literally outside the door).

The hotel itself is modern and the staff are super friendly and multilingual. The reception area is welcoming and there is a small bar in that space should you want to savor one of the many original beers of the region. The hotel also features a sauna and a small pool which are great for relaxing after a long day out.
Breakfast is excellent at the hotel, offering both hot and cold food with plenty of choice.
They do not provide other meals but there are several other restaurants next to and across the street from the hotel that offer dinner.
Rooms at the hotel are partially modern with the rooms in the main building having been recently renovated and updated and so we advise you to ask for a room there versus the building across the road which is older.
The region around Dinant is a real cyclist and walker’s paradise, on top of being a historical treasure. The region was once known for coal mining and the local governments have worked hard over the past years to repave the hundreds of kilometers of former train lines that criss-crossed the region. In fact, these form a part of a larger infrastructure for walkers, hikers and cyclists called the Ravel Routes which in their own right are worth taking time for.

A total of 1500 Km of these connected routes take you to every corner of the Wallonia region in Belgium, past castles, cities, amazing scenery and historical villages. The routes near the hotel take you to Dinant and the Abbey of Leffe (along the river Meuse) or (if you are a series walker) to the Abbey of Maredsous (about 35km return). Parts of the route are also (during the summer season) covered by railroad tracks that offer pedal powered small railcarts.
